Solvent-Free Dry-Process for Developing High-Performance Lithium–Sulfur Batteries
https://doi.org/10.1007/s11814-025-00408-1
Abstract
While much attention has been given to the manufacturing of electrodes in secondary batteries, the solvent-free dry-process
manufacturing technology has emerged as a promising approach for the production of advanced lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries,
addressing key economic, environmental, and performance challenges associated with current Li-ion battery systems.
This review explores research on Li–S batteries that incorporate dry-process technology, highlighting the benefi ts and challenges
of this approach. We analyze how this innovative strategy could address the limitations in Li–S battery chemistry.
Ultimately, this review provides a critical perspective on the potential of solvent-free manufacturing to realize commercially
viable Li–S batteries, with particular attention to the future advancement of all-solid-state Li–S batteries.
